Thank you for your interest in our holiday home in Jamaica.

Jamaica, the birthplace of Reggae is the third biggest island in the Caribbean and one of the most popular holiday destinations. Columbus discovered Jamaica on his second voyage in 1494. In 1655 the island of Jamaica was conquered by the British, which then became the main base for the English pirates and buccaneers.

Pedropointville was built on Pedrohill by an English architect, it is said, that a pirate named Pedro used the property for all his notorious activities. He used the excellent view to keep a look out for colonial trading ships carrying booty.

Nowadays, we accompany our guests to this spot several times a week not only to watch cruise liners passing by but also to watch the leaping dolphins.

The Jamaican landscape is varied; there are white sandy beaches, tropical rain forests, spectacular waterfalls as well as mountains, some of which rise to a height of 2000 meters.

The population consists of 98% blacks and the rhythm of Reggae is everywhere.
There is a close relationship between the music, rum and the holy herb “Ganja” as well as the Rastafarian culture.
This cannot be excluded from the Jamaican culture.

We are a family with two children. After having visited Jamaica several times over a period of ten years, we finally made up our minds to make Jamaica our home. In October 2001 Pedrospointvilla came into our possession.

The villa consists of four apartments. We occopy only one of the apartments. The other three apartments, each with a separate entrance, are available on rent. The advantage is that since we live on the premises there is always someone who you can contact.

The Pedrospointvilla is centrally located and therefore quite convenient. It is situated exactly between the two main metropolises Montego Bay and Negril. It takes approximately 3 minutes by car to get to the main highway. Both places are approximately a 30 minute drive away from the house. It is therefore the right place if you would like to accomplish a lot in a short period of time. You could use our villa as a starting point for all your activities.

In Negril, you will find the famous 11 Km long sand beach and plenty of restaurants. Live Reggae concerts take place here many times a week. This is also a haven for watersport fans. One can go diving, snorkelling, parasailing or even explore the beautiful coral reefs in a glass bottomed boat. Not far from Monetgo Bay is the famous golf course “Tryall” where many American movie stars come to play golf. You could also opt for a horse riding trip along the beach. Montego Bay also has a lot to offer. For example, a shopping spree by night. or you could also visit the casino where you could win, or loose a few dollars.

Pedropointvillle is also ideal for guests who merely want to relax.

The tropical gardens which are about 3000 square meters large offer shady places under the palms where you can relax and read a book. This is also a good place for families with children. There is a children’s playground as well as a table tennis court available.

Those of you who cannot live without a television have a selection of over 350 movies to choose from. A large television screen is also available.

If you would like to be throughly spoilt and pampered, we are more than willing to do that as well. We can arrange to do your shopping and have a native cook prepare all your meals which can also be served to you where ever you would like to eat. For example, we could arrange a romantic candle light dinner on our small sand beach or at the pool balcony directly above the ocean.

The Pedrospointvilla is also ideal for guests who are on a tight budget. In Lucea, which is only a 5 minute drive away from the villa, you will find supermarkets, fruit, vegetable, meat and fish markets. There is also a pharmacy, doctors, a hospital, as well as many restaurants, pubs and a night club.

This small village is for me the most beautiful village in Jamaica and since it is still not crowded with tourists it is possible to get food at reasonable local prices. All our suites are also equipped with a kitchen so you can, at any time, even cook a meal for yourself.

We have special offers for singles, or if you are travelling on your own you could also share a suite with another fellow traveller.

Climatic conditions are almost ideal in Jamaica. It is always warm. However, one can expect short and violent showers at any time of the year. The temperatures vary between 26 and 33 degrees. Air humidity is between 70% and 80%.

As is the case all over the carribean, most of life is spent out in the open. We have therefore made certain that each Suite has a terrace with a view to the sea, where, if you wish, you can begin the day with breakfast. The pool side by night, which is always lit up, offers a direct and breath-taking view of the ocean.

At Pedrospointsvilla you are not only welcome to spend your honeymoon but if you so desire, we can also organise your entire wedding.

We have fallen in love with the Reggae island of Jamaica a long time ago. In the year 2003 we decided to make Jamaica our home. Pedrospointvilla is therefore not just a hotel it is our home. All of this has been developed for the love for this country and its people.
